The SCI program has currently reached its maximum enrollment. All individual and
employer group applications are being placed on the waiting list. Effective September
1, 2010, new employees joining existing SCI employer groups will no longer be exempt
from the waiting list. All such applications will be placed on the employer group
waiting list. Individual applicants are notified by the Income Support Division
unit when their application has been placed on the waiting list. Employer groups
are notified by the Insure New Mexico group enrollment center when they have been
placed on the waiting list.

How Do I Apply for the State Coverage Insurance (SCI) program? (individuals not
participating in SCI through an employer group ONLY)

- Applications are available through the Insure New Mexico! SOLUTIONS Center,
the three
participating health plans , certified brokers, and Income Support Division
Offices throughout New Mexico.
- Applicants are responsible for attaching all of the required documentation requested
on the application in
English or
Spanish . Please be aware that this includes having proof of citizenship and identity verified by
an Income Support Division Office or an Agent of the State. Please see the list
of Document Verification Locations

ISD Offices for a location near you.
- You must select one of three health plans on your application:
- You will receive an approval or denial letter from the Income Support Division once
your application has been processed (approximately 45 days). If your application
is approved, you will be given instruction to contact the health plan you selected
to complete the enrollment process.

There is no asset test required for eligibility.
There is no pre-existing condition limitation.
