Individuals may apply for the State Coverage Insurance (SCI) program independent
of an employer group or as a self-employed individual. SCI helps low income individuals
who otherwise have no access to health care insurance.
An individual electing to apply for SCI without employer participation pays both
the employee and the employer share of the monthly premium.
The State assists SCI members who meet the 0-100% Federal Income Guidelines with premium payments for this
program.
