Due to state budgetary constraints, the Department will stop enrollment of new clients in its PAK and PAM programs effective September 1, 2010. Please submit your premium assistance application to Insure New Mexico on or before the September 1st deadline. Applications postmarked (or faxed) on or before September 1st will be processed for eligibility determinations. Applications postmarked after the deadline will not be processed
Premium Assistance for Kids (PAK) Comparison

The Premium Assistance for Kids (PAK) program is designed to assist eligible individuals with payment of the premium for commercial insurance.Prior to November 1st, 2010, the State was assisting with 25% of the premium; after November 1st, 2010, the State is assisting with 15% of the premium. Effective May 1, 2011 the State will contribute a fixed rate per enrollee per month as its share of the PAK premium. The enrollees portion must be paid on time. Otherwise, enrollment will be terminated and the individual will not be able to reapply for coverage for a 12 month period.
